Twenty-two West Michigan companies have been named to Inc. magazine’s 32nd annual Inc. 500|5000 ranking of America's fastest-growing private companies. The ranking features 126 Michigan-based companies.
“These Michigan companies, from a wide range of industries, have all earned their place on this list through innovation and aggressive performance,” said Gov. Rick Snyder. “They exemplify the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit Michigan is known for, and we applaud them for this notable achievement.”
Grand Rapids education company Prep Net is the highest-ranking West Michigan company, with 923 percent revenue growth in three years, and raking in the top 500 at No. 496. Prep Net was founded in 2008 and brought in $712,229 in 2009. Last year, the company had revenue of $7.3 million.
Holland-based manufacturer EBW Electronics is the other West Michigan company in the top 1000, ranking at No. 678, with 675 percent revenue growth in three years.
“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500|5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields, they are as famous as household-name companies, simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,” Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg said.
